Brief

The Organizing Committee of The University of Michigan India Conference wanted to strongly differentiate the 2014 annual India conference from its previous years. They wanted the conference to connect with the audience emotionally and intellectually. Plus, inspire them to take action while aspiring for India’s growth. Our brief was to use the power of visual branding to design the event identity and enhance this key conference objective ‘The Growth Within’.

BRANDING FOR EDUCATION
Graphis, New York / USA, is the compelling record of the world’s most significant and influential works in Design, Advertising and Photography. The work stood 1st in the Asia region and 8th in the world in the education category.
Approach

Our design approach for the conference identity involved creating a visual of transformation. This was done both typographically and illustratively. We focused on presenting the idea of ‘Growth Within’ as a singular word and image. This enabled the communication that introspection from ‘Within’ qualifies ‘Growth’ and creates holistic transformation.

Results

The visual branding (the logo and its extensions within the conference venue) brought to life the theme of the conference – The Growth Within. The design was able to create memory and recall value among participants long after the conference was over. The work is a 2016 Graphis Gold Winner. Graphis is the compelling record of the world’s most significant and influential works in Design, Advertising and Photography.

Client Speak

“We were impressed with your ability to ideate and bring to reality the theme of our conference this year. The design was well appreciated and noted by attendees. It helped us communicate our objective visually and clearly – that we also need to grow within, even while aspiring for India’s growth. With the lighting, the design almost had a 3D feel to it and brought a unique presence to our conference.”
